02 / THE NEXT STEPS

A little preparation.
A predictable start.

Your Codex CLI path for macOS.
Setup remains in your hands.

  1. 01

    Start with your client.

Use Codex CLI’s official documentation to install or update it for macOS. Use your normal user account and check the client’s current system requirements.

    Open the official client guide
  2. 02

    Confirm gateway access.

OptinRouter’s live gateway is in development. During onboarding, confirm your approved endpoint, models, provider terms and budget before replacing any placeholder.

    Request early access
  3. 03

    Review the file and credentials.

The template refers to OPTINROUTER_API_KEY. Configure it locally through the client’s supported credential setup after onboarding; do not paste it into this website. Review the template next to your existing settings and keep a backup.

    Return to the preview
  4. 04

    Verify before real work.

After access is available and you apply the reviewed settings, use a small non-sensitive test. Check the selected model, route, Private policy and usage before starting a real project.

    Read the integration notes
Configuration references checked against the official client documentation on 18 October 2026. Compatibility still needs release testing.

What does Private by default mean?

Private is the planned default for gateway traffic. Coding sessions are not automatically submitted to a contribution program. A contribution would require a separate, deliberate choice and the required permissions. This studio does not send coding traffic or change a privacy setting.
